Firm earned top-tier rankings for oil and gas, commercial litigation, energy law and insurance law
Hicks Thomas LLP has been named to the 2025 edition of Best Law Firms by The Best Lawyers in America, one of the oldest and most respected legal guides in the industry.
The firm received the highest ranking possible – Tier 1 – both nationally and in the Houston metro area for oil and gas law. It also received top-tier rankings for its commercial litigation, energy law, and insurance law practices in Houston.
Best Law Firms also recognized the firm for its work in construction litigation, labor and employment litigation, appellate, arbitration, management labor law, intellectual property, environmental law, and insurance litigation.
Best Law Firms honorees are selected through survey results and feedback from clients and peer attorneys. To be eligible, a firm must have at least one attorney recognized by The Best Lawyers in America. Twelve Hicks Thomas partners were named to the 2025 edition of The Best Lawyers in America and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch.
The Best Law Firms honor continues what has been a remarkable year for Hicks Thomas. The firm was also recognized by Chambers and Partners, Lawdragon, Texas Super Lawyers, and Benchmark Litigation.
In September, the firm also announced the addition of nine new partners and seven associates. The commercial trial lawyers have industry-leading experience representing clients in managed care litigation and complex commercial matters in the energy industry.
