Kevin joined Hicks Thomas after clerking for the Honorable Judge David Hittner in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, where he worked on a wide range of legal issues and developed a strong foundation in civil litigation.

A veteran of the United States Army, Kevin served on active duty for seven years and rose to the rank of staff sergeant while deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. He credits his military service with shaping the discipline, problem-solving skills, and leadership he brings to his legal practice. Kevin earned his J.D. from South Texas College of Law Houston, where he competed on the Varsity Moot Court team, was named a Presidential Fellow, and was inducted into the Order of the Lytae. He now serves as an adjunct professor teaching Advanced Legal Analysis and helps recent graduates prepare for the Bar Exam as a coach.

Before entering the legal field, Kevin worked in the construction industry. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Houston, graduating magna cum laude and earning membership in the Sigma Lambda Chi Honor Society. He holds an OSHA 30-hour safety certification and passed the Associate Constructor Exam through the American Institute of Constructors.

Kevin worked as a field engineer on major infrastructure projects across Texas, including the expansion of Beltway 8 and the construction of toll lanes on SH-288 in Brazoria County. As part of the field management team, he was responsible for overseeing project schedules, budgets, quality control, and safety compliance. His work included paving operations, the installation of Mechanically Stabilized Earth walls, structural bridge construction, flood retention pond development, stormwater pollution prevention program management, and traffic control operations. He also planned and managed significant traffic closures and realignment efforts, including extended closures of major highway interchanges.

Today, Kevin draws directly on this experience in his legal practice. He understands the operational, contractual, and regulatory challenges construction clients face because he has experienced them firsthand. That background allows him to provide practical, informed counsel in construction contract disputes, defect claims, and other construction-related litigation.
