Kai is a litigator with a practice spanning commercial disputes, regulatory matters, and appellate advocacy. He has experience across multiple federal courts, including clerkships for judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and three U.S. District Courts. This foundation gives him a practical understanding of how judges approach complex issues from trial through appeal.
Before joining Hicks Thomas, Kai worked in the FDA and Healthcare Regulatory and Compliance group of an Am Law 50 firm, where he handled matters involving healthcare, food, and medical technology. He also brings experience from his time at Cornell Law School, where he represented clients in labor and farmworker clinics, externed at a federal agency, and assisted faculty in drafting a proposed uniform noncompete law for the Uniform Law Commission.
